This was our first tournament for some time so we were rather nervous when it came to our first race.  However, after winning our first race against the Sheffield Speeders we quickly regained our confidence.  New dogs Foster and Finnegan didn't put a paw wrong so we knew we were in for a good day of racing.  The Knavesmire at York is an excellent venue and our hosts the Dog Friendlies had organised the event really well.  We won both heats in the morning before returning to Carole's caravan for a wellFirst05Aug2007.jpg (551195 bytes) earned lunch.  Laura, who had been working the night shift, came to watch the afternoon racing and she was not disappointed with our performance.  We had some excellent racing losing just one race against The Crazies.  The weather was hot and sunny in the afternoon so we were fortunate that all three of the afternoon races were only over three legs as it was tiring for dogs and people.  We ended the tournament with a first place but the rewards did not end there.  At the awards ceremony we not only picked up our first place rosette, Ken also picked up Tara's Graduate award which she gained at Middlesbrough, and to top it all both Foster and Finnegan gained their Flyball Dog points.  Results
