This is the first time a flyball tournament has been held at Oliver’s Mount high above Scarborough. Although this venue is home to motorcycle racing we think the flyball is just as noisy. It was a small tournament with just two divisions per day and we found ourselves in the dizzy heights of Division 2. Looking at the schedule we realised we were up against four of the Teesside teams and also one of the Tearaway teams. This being the case we decided to concentrate on points and forget about the rosettes. We won one race when one of The Crazies got a light, but most of the time Millie our tail-end dog was starting her run as her opposite number was off the box and coming back down the lane. We had a good morning’s racing but sadly a sea fret came in during the afternoon and we all ended up soaked. We did win one heat in the afternoon but unfortunately this was against an empty lane. At the end of the day we had had some enjoyable and friendly racing against some of the best teams in the sport. So thanks to team captains Valerie, Charlie and Bob. We seem to be better placed for our next tournament at Drax where we will be up against teams that will give us a chance of winning. Results
