When we learned we had moved from Division 5 to Division 3 we thought we had little hope of a rosette so we went with the intention of getting Breeze, Megan and Millie enough points to attain their next certificates. We did this splendidly with Megan gaining her Advanced and Breeze and Millie both achieving Graduate awards. Unfortunately Finnegan wasn't able to race as Phil was ill. We missed Finnegan and Phil's hot dogs! John's skills as an electrician were called upon early in the day when the power to the building went, fortunately the breaker had tripped so the lights and the racing were soon back on. We had dispensed with the gazebo for the day and had set up camp inside the arena, which, considering the weather, was a wise option.
As for the racing however the combination of Foster, Megan, Breeze, Millie and Tara was on the whole unbeatable and we finished the tournament and the year with a first place, echoing our win here in November. We enjoyed some really tight racing in the morning picking up a new seed time of 20.15 seconds, so we will be up against some fast teams when we start back racing here at the NRC in March 2008.
