To plagiarize the football pundits
this tournament was a day of two halves. We ran in Division 4 with
four dogs; Holly, Megan, Millie and Tara. Unfortunately we had to
pull Holly out of the competition as she was unwell, and we ran the
remaining three dogs purely for fun.
Foster
however, teamed up with the Dog Friendlies to form the Hillam Friendlies,
they came second in the starters race. Foster again ran well gaining
valuable experience for his debut in division, the Friendlies had a good
time with top marks going to Florence.
Sadly we were unable to put up the gazebo as the venue was rather
compact, the weather however was dry and we formed an area where we could
have lunch and rests in between running the dogs and acting as ring
party. All the activities made a long day go very quickly and it
seemed no time at all before we were lining up to receive our second place
medals for a well run starters competition.
Howard's report in The Flyball Record on the June Cantley
tournament made interesting reading, he stated Millie had a 'suicide wish'
as she didn't swerve to avoid Megan as she came out from running
third. She re-enforced this view in the afternoon when Stan thought
it would be a good opportunity to start cross over training, John moved
back 10 feet and let Millie go as Megan came over the last jump.
Millie ran straight at Megan and head butted her!
