August 29th -30th

We had an excellent tournament at Drax.  Barney was transferred from the Hotshots to the Hotdogs and gained enough points to get his Flyball Dog award plus Foster achieved 5,000 points and his Flyball Dog Advanced.  The team managed to get into the rosettes with a creditable 4th against some fast competition, the placings being down to fastest times.

The Hotshots were unlucky in being allocated the blue lane for their first two races and sure enough CoCo and Daisy ran out in each race.  We did wonder whether we should make the day a repeat of Rotherham and go NFC when our opponents in the second race decided to go NFC themselves.  This meant John and Garry could wait until our opponents finished their racing before letting Daisy and CoCo go down the lane.  This helped to keep them in the lane and we experienced no more run outs for the rest of the day.  The team came fifth in division and we are now getting a reliable performance from our two height dogs.

Finally in a day of non-stop racing the Imps put in a good performance in Starters.  BillyBob, Bracken and Ziggy were joined by three spirited Geordies, Dora and Dash from the Crazies and Ben making his debut for the Fun Flyballers.

Sue, Roger and the Kellington team gave us a well organised tournament utilising two rings to ensure some great racing and an early finish which meant we were back home before seven o-clock.

Conratulations to Foster and Barney!
