June 21st
This tournament saw us running one team, The Hot Shots, which comprised of Amber, Barney, CoCo, Finnegan, Foster and Millie. After a poor start we picked up and won the following two races, fortunately our opponents in the third race were NFC so we managed to win a race with a time of 77.75! It was this incident that prompted Carole to sack Stan as box loader as he hadn’t put a ball in the box for Barney which totally confused the lad. After losing our third race of the morning we retired to the gazebo for food and wine which seems to be our forte. John had found out that Angela from the Sheffield Speeders has a Masters in wine tasting so he asked for her opinion on a Blush Puppy. She replied it had a hint of biscuit and a massive aftertaste which went well with the smoked salmon she was having for lunch. And we thought we did food well!
The
highlight of the day was Amber racking up her 200 points in the afternoon so
becoming a fully fledged flyballer.
We just missed out on the rosettes coming in fourth, but nevertheless it was an enjoyable day’s racing.
