Emma and Peter have been going to Crufts even before they had Amber and
really enjoyed watching Flyball. Emma secretly hoped one day Peter would
relent and agree to get a dog. After much persuasion, in 2004 Amber, a
Labrador Cross, was rescued from some local kennels at 8 months old. It
then took Emma some more persuasion to convince Peter that Amber would be able
to do flyball, and with some gentle words of encouragement from a neighbour, he
agreed in November 2007.
Emma works in sales administration for a local car dealership. Peter
works at Moores Furniture as a Woodworking Machinist. They both enjoy walking
and camping.
Amber is a typical Labrador she is full of energy and is fascinated by water,
usually the brown, muddy, smelly stuff. She also enjoys gardening and has a keen
eye for plants. This usually involves her relocating them to her
kennel. Needless to say they have now sectioned off part of the garden so
Amber can only take part in gardening under their watchful eyes. Amber
also enjoys retrieving socks either from upstairs or people’s feet (usually
visitors) and putting them on her bed or hiding them. It is just a shame
there isn’t a sport of fly sock as Amber would win paws down.
Amber made her debut at Carlton Towers this Easter and didn't put a paw
wrong. She is now training for division along with Daisy.
