After many years with lurchers who showed no interest whatsoever in retrieving anything, Phil and Eileen are delighted that Finnegan has taken so well to Flyball but not particularly surprised as they can’t mention the word ‘ball’ at home without being mobbed!

The other lurcher in the family, Billy Bob, is as laid back as his name suggests.  He has been training since a little puppy and is now a leggy greyhound look-a-like with an intermittent grasp of the rudiments of the sport.  However, his main contribution is the extremely vocal support he provides at tournaments when Finnegan is competing.

Both dogs require a full team of fielders but, hey, they’re lurchers . . . what do you expect?  Nobody wants them to slow down!

Finnegan and Billy Bob share their pad with a chatty puss and a feisty guinea pig,  Phil tinkers with cars and Eileen reads for England – when work doesn’t get in the way.

Finnegan also likes tinkering with cars but the less said about that the better!
