Rachael and Garry joined the team in 2008 and had only seen flyball at game fairs, when they first started training everyone told them that they would soon be addicted but Rachael and Garry did not think so – how wrong they were and now attend every tournament.
Stella a Parson Jack Russell started
training at the age of 6 months and quickly learned to go over the jumps and
retrieve her ball but
was scared of the noise that the box makes, with some intense training and
persistence from the team captain Stan, Stella quickly learned getting the ball
out of the box. At the age of 18 months old to the day she ran in division and
acquired her first flyball points. It is still early days for “Little
Stella” but the signs are looking good and she has already acquired the award
of flyball dog. “Little Stella” is somewhat of a character and likes to do
no more than annoy Finnegan and Foster on a regular basis, she also has made
great pals with Billy Bob which amuses Stan somewhat and he now refers to them
as twins even though there is some considerable distance in size between them.
Tessa
ran on the odd occasions at tournaments but given her age would only run at her
pace and when she wanted too but did achieve the award of flyball dog which both
Rachael and Garry never thought she would Tessa does however enjoy her runs and
still puts in an odd performance at training but has retired from tournaments..
Garry works as a purchasing manager and Rachael as a Accounts Clerk, both are mad about animals and are keen motor racing fanatics, Rachael became a National Champion in 2001 in the sport of Autograss racing and hopes
Stella is as successful in flyball as Rachael is at racing.
